The programme of talks for 2015-16 is as follows:

Friday 11th September – D. H. Lawrence Birthday Lecture by Dr Howard J. Booth, entitled “At last to newness”: The Rainbow and the Dream of a Better World, to be held in the Hall Park Academy, Lecture Theatre, Mansfield Road Eastwood at 7.00 – 9.00 PM.

Wednesday 14th October – Stephen Bailey: Lawrence and Bennett – men from the North.

Wednesday 11th November – Mac Daly: “What does Lawrence have to do with Eastwood any more?”.

Wednesday 9th December – Christmas Dinner with Readings.

Wednesday 13th January – Sorrel Kerbel: Lawrence and the Unconscious.

New talk for May meeting

Unfortunately, the talk by Anne Fernihough on Wednesday 14th May on The representation of Lawrence and Frieda in H. D.’s novel, “Bid Me to Live has had to be cancelled.

Instead Andrew Harrison will be giving a talk on “Sons and Lovers”.

Latest edition of DH Lawrence Journal now available

The latest edition of the DH Lawrence Journal is now available to members.

Volume 3, Number 2 of the journal includes an article by Catherine Brown on Lawrence and the Alps, alongside many other articles and reviews.

This edition is dedicated to James T. Boulton and Keith Sagar, to commemorate their invaluable legacies to Lawrence studies.

Members of the society receive a copy of the journal through the post. Queries and submissions should be sent to the Editor via e-mail, sue@niallc.co.uk
